Waiting....

WELL THIS SUCKS! IT'S DECEMBER AND YOU IDIOTS ARE STILL NOT PLAYING HOCKEY. We're sitting here waiting for you....

Happy Birthday Toaster!

Now we just need hockey to compliment that snazzy sweater.

As midnight falls...

The NHL has officially gone into a lockout.

That's why teams signed over 200-million dollars worth of contracts in the past 48 hours under a CBA their owners apparently hate so very much despite fighting so very hard to put it in place 7 years ago. Oh and the president of the Florida Panthers was tweeting about eating frozen yogurt.

Whatever. Go Bulldogs!

Habs 0, Sabres 3: We graciously serve you a shot at the playoffs...

...just so we can watch you lose in Round 1 or 2 as per usual.

Probably the best moment of this game was when a ladybug attacked the image of Tim Peel on my TV just after he tossed Patches out of the game for yelling at him. You are the best ladybug ever. (For some reason my apartment is mysteriously infested by ladybugs, which I usually find dead the next day).

Best Habs tonight: Price, Blunden, PK. Bourque also reasonable game but with Stormtrooper aim. Felt like he gave up after a while though. Also while everyone bitches how no one went after Myers for concussing Gomez (even though he was suspended for it), Ryan White let's us know he asked Myers twice to go. Obviously someone told Myers to not get involved in that stuff. Other than that, what? You expect them to javelin throw Desharnais at him or something?

And fuck the Crapnucks. This is why I didn't want Hodgson in the fucking East you idiots.

Eight more games left of Campoli. Eight. More. Games. That's just depressing. Also depressing to know the boys have THREE fucking back-to-back games to end the season. Well hey even the NHL schedule maker wants us to have Grigorenko.

Here's a cute picture of Toaster to make y'all feel better.

Introducing: Toaster!

Here's my puppy Toaster! He's a Chiweenie (Teckel-Chihuahua). Right now he's curled up in a ball sleeping while I watch hockey. He's so tiny and terrified of everything. Doesn't yet know how to walk on a leash yet but I got puppy pads for him. He knows how to play though!

Instead of walking, he's perfectly happy sitting in my arms. Well he is only four months old...

Habs 1, Leafs 3: I can hear the sighs from here...

Thirty minutes does not make a hockey game, guys. I can hear Price sighing from here. Even in this loss his save percentage actually gets better. Which means DO YOUR FUCKING JOBS, GUYS. Not even going to waste my time bitching about Ca-Ka again...

It's too bad because that was a lovely fan-made mask for Price for the yearly contest. Last fan-mask I think the Habs were shutout 3-0...

Oh and Erik Cole is awesome but I think y'all know that. Also I think Staubitz was whistling while he was fighting.

But you know what? I'm cool with this right now. Well no I HATE it when they lose to the Leafs... Mostly I'm so bouncing off the walls happy to announce that I got myself a puppy! YES! My own puppy! And a friend for Ziggy when we got visit. (Well he'll have to go to my parents house a few times a week anyway since my dad's retired and I'm at work). It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. My mom told me about these gorgeous dogs at Nature (where we got Ziggy). I wanted to see them. Seriously fell in love with the little guy. He was all kinds of cuddles and love! Initially I was interested in the Cockaliers that were there. (Oh my god they were so beautiful). But I kept going back to this little guy... He's a Teckel-Chihuahua and will only be about 8 pounds max. I think he might be smaller though. As of now he's only 4 months old. Seems to play well with other dogs and apparently loves the cats too.

When we left, he was cuddling his big brother. They know they'll be leaving each other soon. The lady told me his brother was sold a half hour before I got there, so at least they both have homes now!

I'm going to name him Toaster.

He started taking a nap on my mom's shoulder
Since Pleky died, it's been real quiet in here. I can't wait to bring the little guy home... My mom says he's the size of a guinea pig. So right now I'm busy puppy proofing my apartment, which is also a great excuse to clean out the place big time. Seriously freaking out though because I don't know where I'm going to put his cage... I think my room might be the only place.

Habs 0, Jets 4: Ho Ho Holy crap bad

I was away with friends watching some shitty movie called Santa's Slay that was unfortunately dubbed into Italian because my friend didn't check his download. It was still hilaribad. I'm guessing it was better than watching the Habs, though.

I understand PK and Eller getting benched. PK needs to step away and reflect, reground, reassess. He knows it well. Eller needs to do the same, but in the sense that he hasn't played terrible but needs to get his mind clearer and marry his strengths with a little more push production wise and more attention to detail with on-ice decisions. I know he knows what he has to do. Cammy is next on the list if this continues, though.

I can only assume from my timeline that Price later turned to his buddies and said, "Merry fucking Christmas to you too," then punched another hole in the wall. Sigh....

Here. This should cheer us all up.

My dog Ziggy

Summer cut turns him into a fuzzy noodle.

It's a week late because I was busy at work (swamped) and Blogger was being bitchy but last Friday was Ziggy's birthday! Our puppy is now 1-year old and twice as cuddly. He still cusses out the neighbor's annoying barking Retriever and digs holes in the backyard looking for rats that don't exist, but he's grown so much over the year. So smart...maybe too smart for his own good.

We got him this fancy cookie. Needless to say he grabbed it, casually took it to the living room carpet, and happily ate it all.

My puppy wants to play hockey!

Over at my parents house, our puppy Ziggy was mesmerized by the hockey game on TV. No idea why, considering it was Ottawa vs Calgary, also known as a total snoozefest. Then he got up close and wanted the puck. But no puck was to be had...

So Ziggy started to bark at them.

Ziggy doesn't like the Sens or the Flames.
My kind of puppy!

Habs 3, Oilers 4 (OT): Meltdown

Games like this piss me off. I don't have a nicer way to put it. And the sad part is I knew they would do this.

The Habs come out onto the ice tentatively, unsure about how to play or what to do. Defensively they're confused with the balls out manner of the Oilers who play without a care because they have nothing to care about because, frankly, they stink and aren't going anywhere. They have no system, so more often than not you find yourself caught following them when you should be stomping on them. Basically it's a game of big foot vs a herd of hamsters. Offensively, when Mathieu Darche is the only reason why you've scored all three goals, YOU GOT A PROBLEM. And when you're going down the ice with Gomez and he passes you the puck, why the hell would you pass it right back to him when you're more open and he's covered by two players?

Note in OT, if there was a worse time for Cammy to lose the puck like he's been doing a lot lately, that was it.

Shame on you, Habs. Shame on you for allowing chronic underachievers like Hemsky, Gagner, and Penner look like Wayne Fucking Gretzky. And all we heard was how awesome the Oilers were, which was garbage considering two of the goals should not have even happened due to blatant uncalled penalties, especially that shorthanded one...

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if certain words were exchanged to make Oil Change Episode 4: The Northeastern Trip look better than it should be. Bottom line, SHAME on the Habs because now they'll forever be immortalized while playing one of their worst games of the year against the Western Islanders in that bullshit show.

Shame!
- A TWO GOAL LEAD IS NOTHING.
- Hey coach, calling for a line change with your guys in the D-zone is NOT how it's done. I could be wrong though.
- If that was Spacek's 800th game, then it was 800 games too many.
- Benoit Pouliot is back to pissing me off...
- Will Don Cherry call out Taylor Hall for his diving? At least the Bell Center crowd recognized it and booed him mercilessly.
- Rush those shots on the powerplay any more, guys. It's not like you're good with the man advantage or anything.
- I swear PK shattered Kostitsyn's knee with that shot. Pleky had to drag him off the ice he couldn't move. (Thankfully he seems ok for now).
- I see now why the officiating in the NHL is in shambles. Stephen Walcom is an ass.
- Going to have to seriously clean up the Bell Center after Pierre McGuire leaves...
And finally:
- Can't you guys win a fucking game with the Grey Cup in the house while we honour the Alouettes or what? What the fuck is your problem?!

Devils tomorrow. Better be angry, Habs, because the Devils are worse than the Oilers with less hope for their future.

Know what? I need a shower to wash off this game. Also, I need to cuddle with my puppy. I'll share this latest adorable picture with you to cuddle with, my 3 readers, in hopes he makes you feel better after that garbage.

Lookie. He left a noose.
