The Good: Ryan White!
That's right, everyone! Our favourite BAMF is signed on (finally) for another year to troll the ice, punch out Boychuk, and get lumpy heads that require a bit of ice before his helmet could sufficiently fit back on properly in order to continue playing. And score some goals maybe. Probably on Jose Theodore. I'm also hoping they extend his contract beyond a year.
The Bad: The BB Armada!
I'm not entirely sure Joel Bouchard and his motley crue who have stolen away the Montreal Juniors to fill his goddamn facility on the far end of the old GM plant in Boisbriand have ever driven up highway 15 or highway 13 or the 640 for that matter around 5pm on a weekday. Here's a hint: during the year (ie. hockey season) around rush hour those 3 roads are packed to hell. So good luck getting West Island families and Montrealers (or Laval/BB residents that work in town) out there during the week to see your damn hockey team that was once perfectly located next to a Metro station.
Oh did I mention all these roads are UNDER CONSTRUCTION?
And The WTF?! Brendan Shanahan!
I know this talk was a month old but honestly Shanahan wasted no time at being the new disciplinarian arsehole. I was listening to the Team990 and they were talking to some dude about violence in sports and Shanahan's talk about what Air Canada threatened after the Chara hit on Pacioretty came up. Him saying how while they were pleased with Air Canada's stance on the violent hit and the lack of doing anything by the League to punish the reckless hit that they themselves were equally concerned about it but their concern was for all 30 teams and not just the 1 really pissed me off. I'm guessing Shanny never heard of the saying "the straw that breaks the camel's back"? They really just don't get it. They don't get how the live and incredible violence on a kid by Mark Fucking Messier's Leadership Award Winner Chara that nearly paralyzed him, nay nearly killed him, was not just severely disturbing in the act but the AFTERMATH and how the NHL's leaders actually sat back and mocked the victim, the fans of the team, and it's oldest (you can even say FLAGSHIP) franchise. Especially considering the rules were clear, both new and old, and the action by that manchild captain playing on a team where the League holds an extreme conflict of interest. And then giving Aaron Rome 4 games for bumping Horton into La La Land where the fucking ice did the damage. But lord knows those evil stanchions are far more notorious than the person pushing the player into it.
Congrats on the new job, Shanny. You'll fit right in.
