Habs 3, Pens 2 (SO): Bronze this game

Because it was one amazingly entertaining game.

Sure I pulled my hair when Bourque missed that gift. Same for Desharnais in OT. And yes, Kaberle PISSES ME OFF. But overall, this was exactly what everyone said the team needed: play it like it's Game 7 and it's your last game ever.

Just don't deke in the shootout. Snap that shit!
- Like Sunday's game, tonight's was Pleky's FUCK YOU to all the asshats who are trying to trade him on the radio. Are you people sick or something? HE ONLY DOES EVERYTHING!
- Track meet. The boys skated a marathon.
- Lucky bounce ended Price's shutout streak early in the 3rd. Seriously Kaberle, would it kill you to be a little more assertive while on the powerplay? To fucking Joe Vitale?
- I scared the shit out of my dog on Eller's goal. He was asleep next to me and jumped off the sofa, remained agitated for a good while, then went back to sleep.
- Another game, another injury... This time Weber got clipped awkwardly by the knee. At least we got Moen back.
- Louis Leblanc is so much fun to watch. He never stops moving. I think the eyebrows give him an extra push or something like that.
- Don't bother freaking out on Darche's icetime. He had an assignment to help Pleky with the shutdown roll. He did his job.
- PK played goalie for a bit when Price got tripped as he went for the puck. Nice save, PK!
- Hilarious incident at the end of OT with a flying Letang who apparently felt the need to protect Malkin's honour as PK was playing the body instead of the puck. Pretty sure he whined about it afterwards like Blake Wheeler.
- I thought for sure Bourque would lose the puck and fan on his attempt in the shootout. Maybe if I think that everytime, he won't lose the puck so much?
- Seriously, we all know Fleury just sits there with the poke check. SHOOT THE PUCK! Stop walking up to him to deke him out...
- Pleky's got the funk. What a day to finally score some shootout goals.
- Price's last save was funky. He basically saved the goal with his crotch.
- Hey, they jumped over Buffalo and are tied with Tampa Bay.

So yea, Habs. Go beat the Islanders next. Is it too much to ask for or do we have to hypnotize you guys into thinking you're playing Pittsburgh?

By the way...
Ryan White was back in Hamilton for conditioning purposes. They might have lost today's 10am game, but White had the Bulldogs only goals (two of them) and 5 hits in the first period alone. Almost ended the game with a fight. He'll be back soon...

Habs 3, Flyers 4: HBO can shove it

Chris Lee. Absolute douchetard.

Calls back a goal because in his view Cole obstructed Bob when he barely breathed on him. Refuses to call back TWO Flyers goals that had more obstruction on Price (with the Simmonds goal being absolute fallacy) than a punch in the face. Refs who guess get it wrong every time. When Price can perfectly recite to Chris Lee what Simmonds had for dinner, he's in the fucking crease on top of him. And calling what was barely brushing a stick on the back of a helmet while NOT calling the face full of stickblade Emelin got right in front of him was unbelievable. He called a hook, while not calling what should have been two penalties because the Flyers threw the puck into the netting (again). And don't get me started on Talbot putting his hand on the puck in the crease...

I hope HBO thanks him for providing them with so much insight into the stupidity and absurdity that is the NHL referee. We wanted hockey, not you.

I wish I could talk happily about Louis Leblanc's first NHL goal to tie up a very trying game, or that Mike Blunden got an assist on it for parking his ass in front of the net. But then Louis barely had 5 minutes of ice time all game, and barely sniffed the ice surface in the 3rd period. Imagine if he had like 10 or 15 minutes of ice time? I wish I could say Cole-DD-Patches are an amazing line, but key situations found Cammy and Pleky out there instead. Hey it's OK, why would we want to score goals? (Speaking of little DD... he's basically jumping over Pleky on the depth chart here).

So JMart came out and blamed the youth when his veterans were -2. It's kind of like when he was ready to bench Emelin again if Diaz wasn't sick...

Face it, man. You got outcoached. You didn't play planning to win, you played to contain. Meanwhile the Flyers ran all over the Habs' zone, constantly drove the net, and constantly pulled a set backdoor play they succeeded on once to open the scoring. It looked like they were trying to play that same old stupid wait-to-counter system, only to end up watching dumbfounded. As for forechecking? One man in. All the fucking time. No support, no help, always hanging back. I don't know how many times Eller looks up with the puck only to find himself alone and surrounded by 4 enemy jerseys but I'm getting sick of seeing it. And I loved seeing Eller rip the puck off of Jagr's stick all night, but for crying out loud, there is no set up for him to follow through with that. Just dump and hope someone gets it.

Shockingly enough they didn't give up the empty netter. So I guess they left with some dignity...

Oh hungry?

What's big, mean, delicious, and will totally kick your ass? OhAlexHenry! The towering captain of the Bulldogs and facepunching protector of our children is back for 2 more years. Best news of the day. You may continue to pee in the corners when he stares at you, players of Abbotsford.

Oh what? Louis Louis left Harvard for a shiny new entry level contract with the Habs and will play with the Juniors? DAMMIT LOUIS! GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND STAY AWAY FROM THE FLYING ELBOWS OF THE Q! Mind you, Cormier shouldn't be around this season, right? At least the pain of losing Guillaume Asselin won't be so bad.

In other news, I taught Ziggy how to go outside after my parents just couldn't get him to do it. He found a spot in his area where he'd do his business (on the designated mat at least) but refused to go while we were outside or on walks. Finally I got them to leave one of the soiled mats out on the deck (over a bootmat so the wood won't get damaged) where my mom wants him to go. I showed it to him. He sniffed it. We came back from a walk at Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and he actually went to the door, asked to go out, and hit the mat. Such a smart puppy!

I can train hamsters and dogs. Take that, Cesar!
